What is Wellness?

Wellness is a process rather than a state. It is a process of searching, finding and applying skills that contribute to finding balance, peace and fulfillment, maximizing our potential and creativity, achieving the best health we can.

There are many dimensions of wellness:

Concerns about wellness are often placed on the back burner until there is a crisis, a chronic illness or the necessity to recover from a medical intervention such as surgery. Life style change can be difficult to achieve.

Individual Wellness Counseling and Wellness Circle groups can assist you in focusing on self care goals, identifying and overcoming barriers to self care, and in developing your own self care plan. 

The 5 Rhythms® Wellness Plan: can assist you, through learning to live with rhythm, identify with our innate intelligence and relate to our creativity.

  • Finding your flow: Grounded, centered, slowing things down
  • Taking action: making changes, any changes, building self confidence, making choices
  • Letting Go: seeking support, getting help, allowing greater flexibility
  • Honoring the rhythm of love: valuing your body, treating yourself with self respect, being your own best friend
  • Rest: cultivating acceptance and self reflection,  non-judgmental attitudes, asserting yourself and taking responsibility for the best health you can, learning to live with our limitations, peacefully and creatively.

WELLNESS CIRCLES  are held in my Oakland office 

I recommend at least two individual sessions prior to joining a group in order to complete the self care assessments and create your self care plan and individual goals.

You may also be interested in the Movement groups for trauma survivors in support of finding your flow, a centered and grounded relationship to the body/self.
